Mercedes announced today the 2012 B Class price list for the European market, where the new model goes on sale in November. The new generation, 2012 Mercedes B Class will be launched at the same starting price as the its predecessor, and it will be available with a choice between four different engines. Mercedes will sell the 2012 B Class with newly developed 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, equipped with turbos and direct fuel injection.
The 2012 Mercedes B Class price list starts at € 27,578.25 EUR for the B180 CDI model, which is powered by a 1.8-liter diesel engine developing 80 kW (109 hp). The same engine, but with a 100 kW (136 hp) output, is also used in the 2012 Mercedes B200 CDI, which will cost you at least € 29,809.50 EUR.
Both versions of the 2012 B Class diesel offer a 4.4 liters / 100 km fuel consumption, with a 114 g/km (B180 CDI) or a 115 g g/km (B200 CDI) CO2 emissions level.
Merc's price list for the petrol powered 2012 B Class starts at € 26,001.50 EUR for the B180. This version of the 2012 B Class is powered by a 1.6-liter engine with an output of 90 kW (122 hp). The more powerful version of the same engine, which powers the 2012 B200, develops 115 kW (156 hp). This is Mercedes-Benz's top of the range 2012 B Class, which is priced from € 27,935.25 EUR.
In terms of efficiency, the petrol range of the 2012 B class offers a 5.9 liters / 100 km fuel economy, with a 137 and 138 g/km CO2 emissions respectively.
Mercedes offers various optional extras for the 2012 B Class, which could, in some instances, cost you quite a bit extra. The 7G-DCT dual clutch transmission will set you back 2,165.80 EUR, and you'll have to pay 392.70 EUR for the PRE-SAFE system. You can also get side airbags for the rear passengers, which will cost you 446.25 EUR, and the EASY-VARIO-PLUS system for 672.35 Euros.
Mercedes will charge you no less than 3,117.80 EUR for the COMAND Online multimedia system and 856.80 EUR for the Becker MAP PILOT.
Even though the standard 2012 Mercedes B Class is decently priced, these optional extras could leave quite a big hole in your pocket.
