2013 Mercedes GL63 AMG

Recently a Mercedes GL Class prototype was caught on camera and it appears to be the 2013 Mercedes GL63 AMG. The reason it's though to be the 2013 Mercedes GL63 AMG are the double exhaust tailpipes which have become a trademark of the performance AMG versions of various Daimler models. In 2012, the Mercedes GL Class is expected to get a new version, and apparently, it will also get an AMG hardcore model, as much as a large SUV can be hardcore. The 2013 Mercedes GL63 AMG will come a year after the standard model will see the light of day.

The 2013 Mercedes GL63 AMG will be built on an elongated version of the next M Class platform. As far as the engine goes, the 2013 Mercedes GL63 AMG might get the current 6.2-liter unit with

500+ hp, or it could get the new AMG engine. If this will be the case, it means the 2013 Mercedes GL63 AMG will be powered by a 5.5-liter V8 bi-turbo nuclear powerplant developing around 540 hp. This also means the large SUV will be able to get from 0 to 100 km/h in around 5 seconds.

We'll have more details on the 2013 Mercedes GL63 AMG as soon as they become available.
