New information regarding the 2013 Mercedes S Class surfaced the web over the last weekend. Apparently, Mercedes is going to start selling the 2013 S Class in April, but they did not disclose its starting price yet. As always, Mercedes is going to equip the 2013 S Class with its latest technology, including a camera-based pedestrian detection system developed by Continental. The 2013 Mercedes S Class will also be equipped with a Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control system with Steering Assist. This innovative new system is able to keep the car in lane when driving at speeds between 19 mph (30.4 km/h) and 124 mph (198.4 km/h). This system is also able to brake or accelerate the 2013 S Class in case it’s required by the road conditions.
In case of emergencies, when the 2013 S Class detects an object in its path, it's able to use the emergency braking system that works at speeds of up to 45 mph (72 km/h).
Other "toys" featured by the 2013 Mercedes S Class includes a traffic sign recognition system, and an updated Attention Assist system. The latter is able to detect driver drowsiness and alert him using loud noises. The new Mercedes S Class (2013) is able to park itself and to detect an imminent collision coming from the back.
