2014 BMW M3 Rumored

 »  »  »

According to various sources, BMW plans to show the future M3 next year at the 2013 Geneva motor show. The 2014 BMW M3 is going to be disguised as a slightly different concept. The production version of the future BMW M3 is expected to be premiered in 2014 at the Frankfurt motor show. The fifth generation of the M3 (2014) is going to be the first to get the new 3.3-liter 6-cylinder turbocharged engine. The horsepower output of this new unit is currently unknown, but it will probably be around 450 hp and 470 Nm of torque. The engine is going to be mated to a standard seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, similar to the one on the current M5. As expected, the 2014 M3 will feature an electronically controlled variable M differential with a 100% lockup.

Apparently, the 2014 M3 is going to be launched as a sedan at first. Coupe and convertible versions will probably follow. A Gran Coupe version is also expected, but it will not wear the M3 badge, but the M4.

The new high performance Bimmer will be priced just over the $60,000 mark and it will be available with rear-wheel-drive only. Even though there were plans for an AWD version of the M3, they have been rejected.
