Mercedes revealed today the performance version of their new E-Class model range - the 2014 E63 AMG sedan and estate. The top of the range 2014 Mercedes E63 AMG, which is called the S-Model, is going to be available both as a sedan and as a station wagon. For the 2014 E63 AMG, Mercedes has developed a new performance-oriented 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. Both the sedan and the wagon versions of the new Mercedes E63 AMG (2014) are powered by the 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine, however, there is power output difference between the European and USA versions of the model. The European version of the new E63 AMG (2014) develops 410 kW (557 hp) at 5500 rpm and 720 Nm at 1750-5250 rpm. It has a 9.8 l/100 km (UK 28.8 mpg) fuel economy and a 230 g/km CO2 emissions level.

In terms of performance, Mercedes says that the 2014 E63 is able to get from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds. The 4MATIC versions can do it in 3.7 seconds (sedan) and 3.8 seconds (estate). The top speed is limited to 155 mph (250 km/h). The 2014 Mercedes E63 AMG S-Model develops 430 kW (585 hp) at 5500 rpm and 800 Nm at 1750-5000 rpm.

The United States version of the new Mercedes E63 AMG (2014) outputs 550 hp at 5,500 rpm and 531 lb-ft at 1,750 - 5,250 rpm. The S-Model version is good for 577 hp at 5,500 rpm and 590 lb-ft at 1,750 - 5,000 rpm.

The engine of the 2014 Mercedes E63 AMG is mated to a SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission with four driving modes: "C" (Controlled Efficiency), "S" (Sport), "S+" (Sport plus) and "M" (Manual). The car is equipped with an ECO start/stop function to reduce its fuel consumption. The new 4MATIC all-wheel drive system of the new E63 (2014) distributes the engine torque at a ratio of 33 to 67 percent (front/rear axle). The new model is equipped with a 3-stage ESP, which, in SPOR mode, uses the Torque Vectoring Brake system to perform selective braking intervention on individual wheels. The 2014 Mercedes E63 AMG comes equipped with a rear differential lock, the RIDE CONTROL sports suspension, speed-sensitive steering and a compound brake system. The S-Model can be ordered with the optional carbon ceramic brakes that include 402 millimeter disks.

Mercedes has completely re-designed the exterior of the 2014 E63 AMG. The high-performance executive saloon (estate) comes with a more aggressive front end design, with w new bumper with huge air vents, re-styled headlights with integrated LED DRLs, a new grille and a new bonnet. The rear of the new E63 AMG (2014) shows re-styled light clusters, different exhaust tailpipes and a diffuser. The interior of the 2014 Mercedes E63 AMG shows subtle design changes.

The visual features that distinguish the 2014 Mercedes E63 AMG S-Model from the standard version include the A-wing at the front, the chromed front splitter, and the chrome trim strip at the rear. There are also the matt titanium grey 10-spoke AMG light-alloy wheels.

The equipment list of the 2014 Mercedes E63 AMG includes a Bang & Olufsen BeoSound sound system with a 1200 W amplifier and 14 high-end loudspeakers with neodymium driver, carbon fiber interior trim parts, and a designo trim.

The 2014 Mercedes E63 AMG's price list has not been announced yet, but Daimler says it will put it on sale in April (Europe) and in the summer in the USA. The S-Model is going to go on sale in June.
