Mercedes revealed today the new version of their flagship model, the 2014 S Class. Usually, the S Class is the model that receives all the latest technology and know-how Mercedes has to offer and the 2014 version is not different. It comes with a completely new exterior and interior design, more efficient engines and the latest safety systems. The 2014 Mercedes S Class is going to be available in four versions: the S400 Hybrid, the S500, the S350 BlueTEC and the S300 BlueTEC HYBRID. The high-performance AMG version of the new Mercedes S Class (2014) is going to be revealed at a later date. Mercedes is going to sell the new S Class (2014) with a Short wheelbase or with a Long wheelbase. When developing the new 2014 S Class, Mercedes took into consideration three aspects: "The Essence of Luxury", "Intelligent Drive" and "Efficient Technology".
The first concept is pretty much self-explanatory. Intelligent Drive aims to combine the safety offers by the PRE-SAFE and DISTRONIC PLUS with the comfort you would expect from such a vehicle. The new Mercedes S Class (2014) is more efficient than ever. The 2014 S300 BlueTEC HYBRID for example has a drag coefficient of cd=0.23 and promises a fuel economy of 64.2 mpg (4.4 litres per 100 kilometers).

However, we have to point out that the 2014 Mercedes S Class comes with LED headlights, taillights, and interior ambient lighting.
Mercedes is going to offer the 2014 S Class with a wide range of engines, starting from the efficient S 300 BlueTEC HYBRID (204 hp) and going up to the powerful S500 (455 hp) that can get from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.8 seconds. The new S Class (2014) is the first car that can detect bumps in the road and adjust its suspension accordingly. The systems responsible for this are the ROAD SURFACE SCAN and the MAGIC BODY CONTROL. The 2014 S Class comes equipped as standard with the Adaptive Damping System ADS PLUS and the AIRMATIC suspension.
For the interior of the 2014 S Class, apart from using the best materials available, Mercedes chose two high-resolution TFT color displays in 8:3 format with a screen diagonal of 30.7 cm (12.3 inches). One of them takes the functions of the instrument cluster, while the second one is used for controlling the infotainment and comfort functions. Mercedes also equipped the 2014 S Class with the LINGUATRONIC system and the Speech Dialog System. This is not all. The seats are equipped with an ENERGIZING massage function and a ventilation system that uses reversing fans. Mercedes is offering three different sound systems of the 2014 S Class: the Frontbass system, the Burmester Surround Sound and the Burmester High-End 3D‑Surround Sound.
