Jaguar announced today that the world debut of the all-wheel-drive F-Type R coupe is going to take place at the 2014 Los Angeles auto show. As you know, the official specs say that the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine of the Jaguar F-Type R develops 550 hp and 680 Nm of torque. The rear-wheel-drive version of the F-Type R is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h). Well, the AWD Jaguar F-Type R comes with the same engine, but thanks to the all-wheel-drive system, it needs just 3.9 seconds to reach the 62 mph (100 km/h) mark. It has the same 186 mph (300 km/h) top speed. The AWD Jaguar F-Type R's price, complete specifications and other details are going to be revealed in the very near future.

Meanwhile, to mark the launch of the AWD F-Type R, Jaguar partnered with Bloodhound SSC, who are the guys currently trying to break the land speed record. Bloodhound SSC's goal is to set the world land speed record at 1,000 mph (around 1,600 km/h). The current record stands at 763.035mph. It was set by Andy Green in Thrust SSC in 1997.
