Jaguar revealed today the new F-Type Coupe, which, just like the convertible version, is going to be available in three versions: basic, S and R. The basic Jaguar F-Type Coupe is powered by a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine that’s good for 340 PS at 6,500 rpm and 450 Nm of torque at 3,500-5000 rpm. The Jaguar F-Type S Coupe is powered by the same engine but it has an output of 380 PS at 6,500 rpm and 460 Nm of torque 3,500-5000 rpm. The Jaguar F-Type R Coupe is powered by a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that puts out 550 hp at 6,500 rpm and 680 Nm of torque at 2,500-5,500 rpm. The F-Type R Coupe Jag is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
In terms of design, the only difference between the convertible and the coupe versions of the new Jaguar F-Type is the roof. The coupe F-Type comes equipped with second-generation Electronic Active Differential and a new Torque Vectoring by braking system. The F-Type coupe is built with aluminum and it promises a torsional rigidity of 33,000 Nm/degree. This makes it the most rigid Jaguar ever produced.
Jaguar equips the F-Type Coupe with a Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) braking system with 398/380mm discs front/rear, and an eight-speed 'Quickshift' transmission with full manual sequential control via steering wheel-mounted paddles or the central SportShift lever. The new F-Type coupe is more practical than the convertible, since it offers a 407-litre boot.
The Jaguar F-Type Coupe's price list starts at £51,235 GBP OTR for the basic model and it goes up to £60,235 GBP for the S. The top of the range F-Type R Coupe is going to cost you at least £85,000 GBP. For the United States market, the Jaguar F-Type Coupe's price list starts at $65,000 and it goes up to $99,000 for the R version. The F-Type S Coupe will cost you at least $77,000.
