Acura RLX (2014)

The 2014 Acura RLX had its debut at the 2012 LA Auto Show, just over half a year after it has been presented as a concept in New York. The new Acura RLX presents itself as a luxury-performance sedan that implements for the first time the carmaker's Precision All-Wheel Steer system. Acura powers the new RLX with a 3.5-liter direct-injected SOHC i-VTEC V6 engine that puts out 310 hp and 272 lb.-ft. of torque. This new unit comes with Variable Cylinder Management and it's able to deliver more than 90% of its torque between 2000 rpm and 6600 rpm. The Acura RLX's engine is able to shut down three of its cylinders, when their extra power is not required. This greatly reduces the fuel consumption of the sedan. To reduce the engine's vibrations felt inside the cabin, Acura mounted it using the Active Control engine Mount (ACM) system.

The new Acura RLX (2014) comes with Sequential SportShift 6-speed automatic transmission. Acura's official fuel economy for the RLX is 20/31/24 mpg (city/highway/combined).

At the interior, the 2014 RLX comes with an 8-inch Navigation screen and a 7-inch On-Demand Multi-Use Display touch screen, a text-to-voice SMS text message function, USB and Bluetooth connectivity and a Krell sound system.

Some of the new safety features offered by Acura on the new RLX include Lane Keeping Assist System and Forward Collision Warning safety systems, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Agile Handling Assist and Jewel Eye LED headlights. Other standard features of the new RLX include parking sensors, heated and auto-dimming side mirrors, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

The Acura RLX's price is going to be announced at a later date.
