Alutec Boost One

The fire-red Alutec Boost One is not just a normal Mustang. Certainly not. It is a thoroughbred horse with compressor and trembling nostrils. Almost 500 hp, a wild widebody and 20 inch light alloy wheels - that is what real zoom-zoom dreams are made of.

A certain car manufacturer may say about his vehicles what he wants in the commercials, but the 500 hp strong Alutec Boost One causes more tickles when it stands than other cars when making a triple somersault with axle fracture. What does Alutec Boost One actually mean? Alutec “Boost pressure one” or is it an appeal to “knock the stuffing out of someone”? If it is right that the first impression counts, then it does not only mean “knock the stuffing out of

someone”, but to “look for the strongest competitor you can find and then knock the stuffing out him!” “A Mustang, that's awesome!” That's what ingenuous car laymen usually say when they see the Alutec Boost One. These ignorant people normally don't know that the Mustang is much tamer and harmless when it rolls from the assembly line without the perfectly customized widebody by Zumac and the wild front. Not to mention the wide 20 inch wheels and the lowering with KW suspensions. On the other hand, it is difficult to take it amiss, because it cannot be seen that 10 cm (3.9 in) steel plate are cut out of the rear wheel arches, in order to make room for the big wheels with a

black painted center star, or that the triangle rear window is welded shut. The Alutec Boost One just looks as a Mustang is supposed to - and it has a lot of power.

Behind the 20” Boost One alloys the 6-piston brake system by Mov'it pops through, which rendered good services to the author.LSD door fittings and König RS 2000 Kevlar bucket seats are inviting.Instead of a window engraving: the triangle window was welded shut - this should be produced in series...

500 hp and 0.8 bar
“Unfortunately, the 4.6 liter V8 engine cannot tolerate more than 0.8 bar boost pressure and 500 hp,” says Frank Lorenzo from Inter Racing, who was in charge of tuning the engine. “Otherwise the result will be bent conrods. At 4500 l/min we had to set the ignition parameters towards late, otherwise the torque would become too big.” However, he is convinced that 650 hp would have been possible with different conrods and pistons. At the moment, I don't care how much horsepower the Mustang could have. All I want is to put my hands around the steering wheel and like a cowboy

turned wild rumble over the Hockenheimring and find out how the wild Alutec Boost One Mustang feels in the free hunting ground! Behind the LSD wing doors there are the König RS 2000 Kevlar bucket seats. It takes far too long to place the ends of the Sparco 6-point belts, sit in, fasten the belts and close the door.

Finally, I can set off! I turn the ignition key and put my right hand on the shifter - no automatic transmission, what a luck! Being 192 cm (6 ft) tall means that I'm anything but small, but the Mustang is still bigger. Anyway, I have the feeling as if I was a child looking ahead over the steering wheel and the high dashboard at the long hood. Or are these only my body-own “luck hormones” which make me feel happy as a child

looking forward to the upcoming ride? At last, the man at the end of the pit lane gives the sign to start. In the idle mode with the windows shut the Small Black V8 doesn't sound very aggressive, but now at the exit of the pit lane, its voice becomes a loud rumbling noise. The white line passes by quickly, and in the rear-view mirror a Porsche appears very big at once.

Porsche duel
Suddenly, during acceleration the Alutec Boost One Mustang stands still, and when I hear a loud fizzling I blush because I'm filled with shame. I have forgotten to change the gears because I was so immersed in accelerating. What have I said about the automatic transmission before? The Alutec Boost One Mustang pushes in the overspeed trip unit so unobtrusively and full of spirits. No matter, it has to go on, one gear higher and the V8 starts again. In spite of all efforts, shortly in front of the right curve to the Parabolica the Porsche passes by quickly and closes the line - the six-piston brake system by Mov'it must show what it is capable of and the wide Kumho tires are squeaking with pain. I give in and let the car slide to the outside of the track. Driving a car is not a contact sport, in the end. The Alutec Boost One Mustang stays very calm, even in the limit area - what a great breed. Fender next to fender we ride the curve with the GT3. And then at the end of the curve the Porsche pulls out. We have to catch up with it - at full throttle, with almost 500 horsepower we start to gallop. At the end of the Parabolica the needle of the speed indicator goes beyond 250 km/h (155 mph), but my pony is trotting totally relaxed and confidently to the next sharp left curve - somehow to confidently - because I brake far too late.

But I only notice it when I have already turned in, it's very close! Like a restive stallion the Alutec Boost One Mustang pushes to the outer edge of the curve called “Spitzkehre 2”, and the rear makes clear that it cannot be controlled for a long time. I don't want to risk to spin around. Daring the gap! I'm gradually opening the steering and with help of the curbs and the green - I'm back on track. The Porsche is already gone though. That doesn't matter! For the rest of the lap I enjoy the temperament of the wild stallion, which makes one forget that curves deserve a certain degree of respect even with this car at the thrill of speeding up, and I avoid it to be at loggerheads with any GT3s. Nevertheless, it is a lot of fun to drive across a curve, but it is certainly not the fastest way as is known. In this spirit: Boost One! The Hot Wheels Widebody was accurately fitted by Zumac. The rear wheel arches had to be cut out 10 cm (3.9 in)! At the circuit trim the Boost One comes close to the road thanks to the KW suspensions. The 4.6 liter V8 has 305 hp ex factory, a Vortech compressor blows air with 0.8 bar boost pressure through a water-cooled intercooler into its nostrils - now the Mustang comes up with 500 hp. Thanks to the limited slip differential and endless torque the Mustang is perfect for drifting - and the red smoke is caused by the Kumho tires. When riding a Mustang at the Hockenheimring - with 500 hp and 0.8 bar boost pressure you have to be concentrated!
