Audi announced that they have developed the first full-LED headlamps for the Audi R8. The Audi R8 full-LED headlamps are offered as an option and feature 54 high-performance LEDs that provide during the night the same color lighting as daylight. The Audi R8 full-LED headlamps price is 3,590 Euros.
LED (light-emitting diodes) have a lower energy consumption because they require a lower voltage, have a color that more closely resembles daylight, provide greater contrast and are non-wearing.
The full-LED headlamps represent the pinnacle of Audi's lighting strategy that started at the 2003 Detroit Auto Show with the introduction of a strip-shaped fog lamp.
