Audi Urban Concept Spyder

Audi released today two sketches of the open-top Urban Concept Spyder, just a week after they announced the premiere of the Sportback / hard-top / coupe version of the vehicle. Just as the Audi Urban Concept, the Spyder version will have its world debut at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt next month. The Audi Urban Concept Spyder is basically the same as last week's version, only without the roof.

Audi says that the Spyder version of the Urban Concept features doors that open diagonally to the top, and a special continuous window area that includes the side windows and the windscreen.

In other aspects, the Audi's Urban Spyder concept

is similar to the Sportback version announced previously. It's a 1+1-seat, ultra-light car designed for city use, with a CFRP cockpit, free-standing wheels with protective plates and a trick suspension system. The Urban Concept Spyder is powered by en electric drive system, which includes two e-tron electric motors and a lithium-ion battery.

We'll have more details on the Audi Urban Concept Spyder as soon as the Ingolstadt manufacturer makes them available.
