Audi revealed the new Allroad Shooting Brake concept at the 2014 NAIAS show in Detroit. The Audi Allroad Shooting Brake comes with an innovative plug-in hybrid drive system with two electric motors and a 2.0 TFSI internal combustion engine. The total output of the Allroad Shooting Brake is rated at 408 PS and 650 Nm (479.42 lb-ft) of torque. Audi's Allroad Shooting Brake features a 2.0 TFSI engine that develops 292 PS and 380 Nm (280.27 lb-ft) and a disc-shaped electric motor (40 kW and 270 Nm / 199.14 lb-ft of torque) that's integrated into the six-speed e-S tronic transmission. There’s also a second electric motor that power the rear axle, which develops 85 kW and 270 Nm (199.14 lb-ft) of torque.
With this powertrain, the Audi Allroad Shooting Brake is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds and to reach a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). The concept weighs 1,600 kg unladen. Audi rates the Allroad Shooting Brake with a fuel consumption 148.7 mpg UK / 1.9 l/100 km / 123.80 US mpg and a 45g/km CO2 emissions level. The Allroad Shooting Brake is equipped with an 8.8 kWh liquid-cooled battery which enables it to run on electricity only for 31 miles. The Audi Allroad Shooting Brake is able to run in three modes: EV, Hybrid and Sport.
Apart from the innovative powertrain, the Audi Allroad Shooting Brake is also equipped with a new generation MMI system. The MMI has a new menu, inspired by smartphones, that comes with multitouch gestures on the touchpad, and a 12.3-inch TFT screen instead of the instrument cluster that shows the dials, the navigations system and other entertainment functions.
For the interior of the Allroad Shooting Brake, Audi is offering sports seats, and foldable rear seats.
The Audi Allroad Shooting Brake measures 4.20 meters in length, 1.85 meters in width, 1.41 meters in height and it has a 2.51-metre long wheelbase. It features an aluminum and carbon fiber body, MatrixBeam LED headlights, and 19-inch lightweight wheels.
