Audi is going to premiere the Q2 Crosslane Coupe tomorrow at the 2012 Paris auto show. Today we get the first glimpse at the new Audi Q2, as its first image hit the web. The Crosslane Coupe is a concept which previews the future production Q2. At the same time, Audi is known for making the production versions almost identical to its concepts. The Audi Q2 is a small three-door crossover, with a 2+2 seating configuration, which measures 4250 mm in length, 1900mm in width, and 1500 mm in height. It has a 5500 mm wheelbase. Audi is going to build the Q2 on the same platform it uses for the new A3 and the new Q3. The Q2 is going to be available with several engines, both petrol and diesel, and possibly, with a hybrid powertrain. The Q2 Crosslane Coupe concept we're going to see in Paris has the same powertrain as the latest Audi A1 e-tron.
The Audi Q2 Crosslane Coupe is powered by a 116 hp electric motor, which drives the wheel. To create the electricity required by the motor, the Q2 Crosslane Coupe uses a second, internal combustion, 3-cylinder 1.5-liter engine, which is good for 132 hp. Our sources believe that Audi is going to put the Q2 into production sometime in 2015.
