The first official images of the new BMW 3 Series GT leaked over the web today, showing a smaller version of the 5 Series Gran Turismo. Even though the Bavarian carmaker did not officially announce it, we expect the BMW 3 Series GT to have its world premiere next month at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Apparently, BMW applied the same recipe with the 3 Series GT, as they did with the 5 Series. The new GT 3 Series is going to be powered by the same range of engines as its sedan version. This means it will also be available with the popular 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine in the 335i GT. However, we're suspecting that we're not going to see an M version of the BMW 3 Series GT.
BMW is going to sell the 3 Series GT with a choice between a traditional rear-wheel-drive system and their xDrive all-wheel-drive system. It's obvious that when designing the GT 3 Series, BMW had practicality in mind, and not design. Well, at least you'll get more luggage space.
