BMW 4 Series Coupe Concept

After this morning's leaked images, BMW released the complete details of the new 4 Series Coupe Concept, as well as a comprehensive set of images. The BMW 4 Series concept previews a premium mid-range coupe and convertible model, which will go into production in the near future. The coupe version of the BMW 4 Series measures 4,641 mm in length, 1,362 mm in height, 1,826 mm in width and it has a 2,810 mm wheelbase. In comparison to the current 3 Series, the BMW 4 Series has a 50-mm longer wheelbase, a 45-mm wider front track (1,545 mm) and an 80-mm wider rear one (1,593 mm). The new 4 Series Bimmer is also 44-mm wider, and 16 mm lower than the 3 Series. So far, BMW did not disclose any details regarding the engines that are going to be available on the 4 Series, but we can speculate that we’re going to see the 3.0-liter 6-cylinder one in the 435i and maybe we'll get an M4 version too.

With a sort of athletic elegance, the BMW 4 Series Coupe comes with stretched proportions, a long sweeping bonnet, and short overhangs. The air intakes and vents you see around the car give it an aggressive and sporty look, while being functional. BMW's 4 Series comes with hexagonal full-LED headlights, and an optical fiber that links the inner headlight tube and the kidney grille. Satin-finish aluminum trim elements are used on various parts of the coupe. The vents behind the front wheels are called Air Breathers, and they have an aerodynamic purpose. They work together with the Air Curtain in the front apron to reduce drag around the 20-inch alloy wheels.

At the rear, the BMW 4 Series Coupe features a rear window that has a lowering effect on the shape of the car, L-shaped rear lights, and a striking bumper.

The interior of the 4 Series is all BMW. We're not so sure about the carmaker's choice in colors, but we're sure that won't be a problem with the production version. BMW offer plenty of personalization options for their car's interiors. The Bavarian carmaker says that the 4 Series concept has a two-tone Black and Schiaparelli Brown interior trim that uses sustainably tanned leather. Various interior trim parts are made of Chestnut wood. We believe wood and so much brown leather is a bit too much for sporty and aggressive coupe.
