Chevrolet announced today the Camaro's price list for the UK market, where it's already on sale. Chevrolet says that the new Camaro was built for European roads, and that it's suspension was developed on the Nurburgring especially so that it would fit the European driving style. The British version of the Camaro is powered by a 6.2-litre LS3 V8 engine, which puts out 432PS and 569Nm of torque at 4,600rpm. Thanks to all this muscle, the new Chevy Camaro is able to accelerate from nought to 62 mph in 5.2 seconds (coupe) or 5.4 seconds (convertible). Its top speed is limited to 155 mph. This is the performance you'll get if you choose the manual transmission version of the Camaro. The automatic gearbox model develops a bit less. It's rated at 405PS and 556Nm of torque at 4,300rpm.
Naturally, its performance figures are also lower. The coupe can get from zero to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds, while the convertible requires 5.6 seconds for the same task.
The Chevrolet Camaro's UK price list starts at £35,025 OTR for the coupe and at £40,025 OTR for the convertible. If you choose to get the optional 45th Anniversary package, you'll have to pay an extra £1,500. Prices include VAT.
