Chevrolet Corvette And Camaro At 2012 SEMA

Chevrolet presented today at the opening of the 2012 SEMA show several modified Corvettes and Camaros. One of the most interesting vehicles is the Inferno Orange COPO Camaro Convertible, which is one of the 69 race cars built for 2012, and it's one of only two convertibles. The 2012 COPO Camaro is powered by a 4.0L engine with a Whipple supercharger that outputs of 550 hp. but it's also available with a 2.9-liter supercharger and a naturally aspirated 427 engine. Another interesting Chevy Camaro presented at this year's SEMA is the one developed by Tony Stewart. Stewart's Camaro ZL1 comes with a bespoke interior and a 6.2L LSA engine that's good for 580 hp. Chevy's official specs of the Stewart's Camaro ZL1 say it can get from zero to 60 mph in 4 seconds and that it can reach a top speed of 184 mph.

Chevrolet also has in its SEMA stand a Performance 1967 Camaro Hot Wheels concept, which has a LS3 E-ROD Connect and Cruise crate engine that promises the same performance as the 430-horsepower LS3 unit. It comes with a 4L65-E four-speed automatic transmission. The 1967 Camaro Hot Wheels concept comes with shaved door handles, various badges and a custom instrument panel and console gauge kit.



Chevy also presented at the 2012 SEMA show Guy Fieri's Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition. Fieri's Corvette 427 is a mix between the Z06 and the ZR1. It's powered by 427-cubic-inch (7.0L) LS7 engine that's good for 505 hp (377 kW) and 470 lb.-ft. of torque (637 Nm). This makes Fieri's Corvette the most powerful convertible version ever produced. It comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a dry-sump oiling system.
