Apart from the regular Sonic, Chevy also presented at this year's Detroit auto show the Chevrolet Sonic Z Spec concept. Chevy did not release any actual details regarding the Chevrolet Sonic Z Spec, but the images reveal some details. The Chevrolet Sonic Z Spec is equipped with Brembo brakes with ventilated discs, Recaro sport seats, a Borla exhaust system and a K&W coilover suspension. The Chevrolet Sonic Z Spec sits on BBS wheels and features various aerodynamic enhancements.
As far as its engine goes, we're pretty sure the Chevrolet Sonic Z Spec uses the same unit as the production version. If this is the case, it means the Chevrolet Sonic Z Spec has either a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine with 138 hp and 200 Nm of
torque, or a 1.8-liter DOHC with 135 hp and 168 Nm of torque.
At this point, GM did not mention if it will put the parts featured by the Chevrolet Sonic Z Spec on sale. A good customer replay however, will definitely accomplish that.
