Cummins announced today that it will display a recreation of the original Napier Railton racing car at the 2011 Goodwood Festival of Speed which starts on July, 1st. The Cummins Napier Railton is one of the very few inter-war period racing cars sill running. Cummins's Napier Railton is powered by a Napier Lion XI 24-liter 12-cylinder gasoline aero engine coming directly from the First World War. The engine of the Napier Railton features double overhead camshafts, four valves and two spark plugs per cylinder and it's rated at a massive 530bhp at 2,350rpm.

The Cummins Napier Railton was raced for the first time in August 1933 by John Cobb and it managed to break the Brooklands outer circuit lap record of 143.44mph in 1935.

Cummins' Napier Railton also managed to set the 24 hour record of 150.6mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1936.

The Cummins Napier Railton now rests at the Brooklands Museum.
