The new 2014 Ducati Monster 1200 S had its world debut this week at the EICMA 2013. The Ducati Monster 1200 and the Ducati Monster 1200 S are powered by a Superbike-derived 1198 Testastretta 11 degree DS 1198.4cc engine. The Monster 1200 develops 135 hp (99.3kW) at 8,750 rpm and 86.8 lb-ft (12kgm) of torque at 7,250rpm, while the 2014 Monster 1200 S is rated with an output of 145 hp (106.6kW) at 8,750rpm and 92lb-ft (12.7kgm) of torque at 7,250rpm. Both versions of the new Ducati Monster (2014) come with a 6-speed transmission and weigh 182kg (401lb) (dry weight). The Ducati Monster 1200 and the Monster 1200 S come with high-performance brakes and suspension, a single-sided swingarm and lightweight wheels. The Ducati Monster 1200 is also equipped with a height-adjustable seat.

Both the 2014 Monster 1200 S and the 1200 offer 8 levels of traction control, 3 levels of ABS and 3 levels of Ride-by-Wire. All modes are set with a single Riding Modes button.

The Ducati Monster 1200 comes in red with red frame and black wheels, while the Monster 1200 S comes in red with red frame and glossy black wheels. For the Monster 1200 S and the Monster 1200, Ducati is offering TFT instrumentation, a Panigale-style direct attachment of the engine to the frame and a larger fuel tank.
