The first images of the Ferrari F12 GTO leaked over the web recently, thanks to an online configurator. The Ferrari F12 GTO is believed to be the name of the even higher performance version of the F12 Berlinetta. The technical specifications of the Ferrari F12 GTO are scarce at the moment. However, various sources indicate that the F12 GTO is powered by the same 6.3-liter V10 engine of as the standard model. The Ferrari F12 GTO develops 800 hp. This is 60 hp more than the standard F12. It is believed that the extra horsepower comes from a modified version of the HY-KERS system used in the LaFerrari. Our sources also report that the GTO is going to be a full 100 kg lighter than the Ferrari F12. The Ferrari F12 GTO comes with modified aerodynamics.
These include A restyled front bumper and grille, a new hood, modified side skirts, a redesigned rear end with a larger diffuser, and modified vents for cooling the brakes. The Ferrari F12 GTO is expected to feature a new interior too.
The Ferrari F12 GTO will probably be launched at the Frankfurt Auto Show this September. If this is the case, it will go on sale next spring. We'll have more details about the Ferrari F12 GTO as soon as the Prancing Horse makes them available.
