For the 2012 SEMA show in Las Vegas, Ford left the job of customizing three Mustangs in the hands of the ladies. SBN Member, Jennifer Seely is "responsible" for two of those, the High Gear and the Chromatic, while Theresa Contreras from L&G Enterprises designed the Fast Metal. The High Gear Mustang aims to be a luxury vehicle, which is inspired by jewelry, couture clothing and architecture. The Chromatic Mustang takes its futuristic design from pop culture elements and street art. It features an anthracite chromed exterior finish, with neon accents and bright cyan wheels. For contrast, its interior is covered in white leather. The Fast Metal Mustang aims to take the muscle car to a whole new level. With a dark metallic finish and red accents, Theresa's Mustang advertises raw speed and power.
The reason behind Ford's endeavor for this year's SEMA is to encourage more women to pursue careers in the aftermarket industry. At the same time, this project is meant to shine light on women working in this industry.
