MTM Volkswagen Polo WRC Street

MTM, or Motoren-Technik-Mayer, revealed today their upgraded version of the Volkswagen Polo WRC Street. The MTM Volkswagen Polo WRC Street is powered by the standard 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, which has been upgraded to develop 380 hp. You have to be completely mental to put almost 400 hp in a front wheel drive car, and even more so in car this small. However, MTM managed to pull it off. Thanks to their own Clubsport chassis, a set of KW shock absorbers, and bigger brakes with 4-piston calipers, MTM managed to tame their Polo WRC beast. MTM's Polo WRC Street develops 160 hp more than the standard, factory version of the hatchback. According to the German aftermarket specialist, their VW Polo WRC is able to rocket from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a little more than 4 seconds.

They also claim it can reach a top speed of 260 km/h, and we tend to believe them.

The MTM VW Polo WRC Street sits on a set of 8X18-inch Nardo wheels, with 215/35 ContiSportContact 5 Ps tires. The hatch's premiere is going to take place at this year's Essen Motor Show. So far, MTM did not disclose the price of their modifications for the Polo WRC Street. In fact, they don't even mention what upgrades they put in to give it so much horsepower.
