Volkswagen revealed today the new Polo R WRC Street concept, which is going to have its world debut at the Worthersee 2012. Worthersee is the place where, once a year, VW and Seat fans across Europe meet to show their rides and see what the carmakers have to offer next. Volkswagen Polo R WRC Street previews a very limited edition version, which is set to go on sale towards the end of next year. The VW Polo WRC Street is basically a racing car modified to be road legal. Unfortunately, Volkswagen is keeping the details of the Polo WRC Street a secret for the moment. What we do know is that it's going to be powered by a 2.0 liter TSI engine with an output of 162 kW / 220 PS. VW says that the Polo WRC Street will be able to offer motorsport-like performance for the road.

The Polo WRC Street is probably equipped with a sportier suspension than the standard one, and bigger brakes. It also has modified aerodynamics, which include a new front spoiler, a rear roof wing and a diffuser. At the interior, the Polo WRC Street comes with sport seats and a new steering wheel. The price of this unique model has not been announced yet.

UPDATE: The Volkswagen Polo R WRC Street outputs 350 Nm of torque and it's able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.4 seconds. Volkswagen did not yet announced the Polo R WRC Street's price, but they did mention it will go on sale 11 December 2012, with the first deliveries commencing on in September 2013.
