Mercedes CLA Class (2014)

Mercedes finally revealed today the new CLA Class (2014), which is basically, the CLS's little brother. The Mercedes CLA is a four-door coupe measuring 4630 mm in length, 1777 mm in width and 1437 mm in height. The Mercedes CLA comes with class -leading aerodynamics (Cd=0.22) and an optional 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. The Mercedes CLA is going to be available with several engine options, with power outputs ranging from 122 hp to 211 hp. Mercedes also equips the CLA Class with the latest version of the COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST system, which is able to prevent rear-end collisions from a speed of 7 km/h. The Mercedes CLA range offers a choice between a six-speed manual transmission or the 7G-DCT dual clutch automatic gearbox. The model comes with an ECO start/stop function as standard.

Some of the most interesting features of the Mercedes CLA are its aggressive and modern design, and its large panoramic sliding sunroof, which is made from a polycarbonate cover at the front and a mineral crystal moving element.

The most efficient version of the coupe is the Mercedes CLA 180 BlueEFFICIENCY Edition, which is going to be launched in June. It has a 1.6-liter engine that develops 156 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The Mercedes CLA180 BlueEFFICIENCY promises a fuel economy of 5.0 liters / 100 km and a 118 g/km CO2 emissions level.

The safety systems offered by the new Mercedes CLA include the ATTENTION ASSIST, the adaptive Brake Assist, the DISTRONIC PLUS, the Blind Spot, the Lane Keeping Assist and the Adaptive Highbeam Assist.
