It's name refers to year the model went on sale for the first time - 1979. The Mercedes G55 AMG KOMPRESSOR Edition 79 is powered by the standard 373 kW (507 hp) engine and comes in a designo magno alanite grey matt paint finish.
The Mercedes G55 AMG KOMPRESSOR Edition 79 comes with a crash bar at the front, carbon-look side trim strips and chromed protective grilles for the front indicators, tail lights and the underguard. The Mercedes G55 AMG KOMPRESSOR Edition 79 sits on 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels in a titanium finish.
At the interior, the Mercedes G55 AMG KOMPRESSOR Edition 79 features designo leather seats in black/sand, solid carbon-fiber trim accents and the Edition logo "1 out of 79" positioned in front of the selector lever.
