Mini Cooper revealed today the production version of the Mini Coupe, which is the brand's fifth model. The Mini Cooper Coupe is a two-door two-seater, measuring 3,728 millimeters in length, 1,683 mm in width, 1,378 mm in height. It has a 2,467 mm wheelbase.

In terms of design, the production version looks almost identical to the Mini Coupe concept, but it has a few distinctive features, including an active rear spoiler, which is lifted automatically when the car goes beyond the 50 mph mark.

The Coupe comes in four versions, including the high performance John Cooper Works model. The base model of the line-up, the MINI Cooper Coupe, is powered by a 1.6-liter engine, developing 122 hp/ 90 kW at 6,000 rpm and 160 Nm/118 lb-ft at

4,250 rpm of torque. This version of the Mini Coupe offers a 52.3 mpg combined fuel consumption and a 127 g/km CO2 emissions level. The MINI Cooper S Coupe is powered by a twin-scroll turbocharged version of the same 1.6-liter engine featuring direct injection, which outputs 184 hp /135 kW at 5,500 rpm and 240 Nm/177 lb-ft of torque between 1,600 and 5,000 rpm.

The diesel version of the Coupe, the Mini Cooper SD, is powered by a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine, with common-rail injection and variable turbine geometry, which has an output of 143 hp /105 kW at



4,000 rpm and 305 Nm/225 lb-ft of torque at 1,750 – 2,700 rpm. The Mini Coupe SD diesel has a 65.7 mpg combined fuel consumption and a 114 g/km CO2 emissions level.

The top of the range version, the Mini Coupe JCW, has the same engine as the S model, but with a higher output. It develops 211 hp /155 kW at 6,000 rpm and 260 Nm/192 lb-ft of torque between 1,850 rpm and 5,600 rpm. The top speed of the Mini Cooper JCW coupe is rated at 149 mph and the 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) acceleration time at 6.4 seconds.

Mini Cooper promises to deliver the same go-kart feeling with the coupe, thanks to a multi-link axle at the rear and MacPherson strut suspension up front. Mini Coupe comes equipped with ABS, EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution), CBC (Cornering Brake Control), Brake Assist and Hill Start Assist. DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) and EDLC (Electronic Differential Lock Control).

For better efficiency, the Mini Coupe is also equipped with Brake Energy Regeneration, Auto Start/Stop+, and Shift Point Display+.

The Mini Cooper Coupe price list starts in the UK at 16,640 GBP for the base model and goes up to 23,795 GBP for the top of the line John Cooper Works model.
