The first Mini Roadster commercial was launched today, just a day after the new model's official unveiling. Filmed on the back alleys of Istanbul by Director Peter Berg, the advert aims to show what the new Mini Roadster is capable of. This is what the clip's description says on YouTube. If you ask us however, the Roadster doesn't do much in the clip, but it does look pretty cool. Even though we fell in love with Mini's new Roadster as soon as we saw it, there's one thing that bothers us: the manually operated roof. We’re sure they could've equipped it with an automatic one.
The Mini Roadster will go on sale in the spring of 2012, with a price tag starting at £18,015 GBP in the UK.
In Europe, the Mini Roadster will be available in four versions (base, S, JCW and the diesel SD) with power outputs ranging from 122 hp to 211 hp. In the United States, the Mini Roadster will be sold with petrol engines only.
