 »  »  »

MINI Cooper released today the first official images, together with the full specifications list, of the production version Coupe. The images released by Mini Cooper show a camouflaged prototype of the Coupe. Even though we can't see the actual car, Mini Cooper did release the full details and specs of the new model. It will be available with both petrol end diesel engines, and a high-performance John Cooper Works version. The Mini coupe is meant to maximize driving fun, while offering a unique exterior and interior design concept. As far as we can tell, the production version of the Coupe will be almost identical to the MINI Coupe concept unveiled back in 2009.

The top of the line MINI Coupe will be the JCW

(John Cooper Works) model, which will be powered by a 1.6-liter twin-scroll turbocharged engine, with direct injection, that develops 211 hp at 6,000 rpm and 192 lb-ft of torque between 1,850 and 5,600 rpm. The full engine options and their specs are available lower down this page.

Mini Cooper says their new coupe version will continue to offer the go-kart feeling in terms of handling. It will be equipped with Electric Power Steering and DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) as standard. As options, the Mini Coupe will come with DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) with EDLC

(Electronic Differential Lock Control).

The price list and availability of the MINI Cooper Coupe will be announced at a later date.
