New BMW trademarks

 »  »  »

According to the British press BMW went on and registered 23 new trademarks which appear to be car names. The new BMW trademarks include Compactive and Compactive Tourer, GranCoupe, Urbanic and M50d. Some of the newly registered BMW trademarks suggest two completely new model line-ups. This means we will have in the future the BMW i1, i2, i3, i4, i5, i6, i7, i8, i9, suggesting the BMW i Series and the BMW E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6, E7, E8, E9 which suggest a possible BMW E Series.

The BMW i Series refer to the announced Project-i electric city car and the E names refer at the company's electric line-up previewed by the ActiveE concepts, like the BMW 1-series Concept ActiveE.

Some of the i and E names will probably never be used and have been registered so others won't be able to do so. However, there is a strong possibility the BMW Compactive and Compactive Tourer, GranCoupe, Urbanic and M50d will find their use.
