The Nissan GT-R Nismo was revealed today as it prepares to go on sale in February 2014 in Japan, and later next year in the USA and Europe. In comparison to the regular Nissan GT-R, the Nismo version comes with more horsepower and improved aerodynamics that offer more downforce. Nissan says that the GT-R Nismo is one of the best performing supercars available on the market today. Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn says that the Nismo GT-R is able to lap the Nurburgring in 7 minutes and 8.679 seconds. The Nismo GT-R is powered by the 3.8-litre V6 VR38DETT engine, which is equipped with the same high-flow, large diameter turbochargers used in GT3. Thanks to and improved air intake system, an upgraded fuel pump and a remapped ECU, the Nissan's Nismo GT-R develops 591hp (441kw) and 481 lb ft (652 Nm) of torque.

Nissan equips the GT-R Nismo with an upgraded suspension system featuring a newly developed double wishbone suspension, a 17.3 mm hollow rear anti-roll bar and special Bilstein DampTronic dampers that offer three settings: Comfort, Normal and R. The GT-R Nismo is also equipped with Dunlop tires and 6-spoke wheels inspired by the GT500 race car. Nissan also improved the GT-R Nismo's body rigidity by using adhesive bonding in addition to spot welding.

The Nismo GT-R's new body kit includes a new front bumper, an engine undercover strake, a modified rear bumper and a carbon rear spoiler that adds 100kg of downforce at 300km/h. The car is rated with Cd 0.26.

For the interior of the Nismo GT-R, Nissan is offering carbon-fiber-backed reclining RECARO seats, an Alcantara-covered steering wheel, special dials, and red stitching on various trim parts.

The Nissan GT-R Nismo's price is going to be announced at a later date.
