Heritage Auctions announced recently that the original Batmobile from 1963 is up for grabs. The starting bid stands at $90,000 USD. The original 1963 Batmobile is based on a 1956 Oldsmobile 88 and it was developed by Forrest Robinson and Len Perham. It is powered by a 324 Rocket engine and its body measures 17 feet by 83 inches. The Batmobile features the iconic dorsal fin, bat-nose front end and pocket sliding doors. At one point, Forrest sold this Batmobile for just 200 USD. The car was abandoned in a field for New Hampshire for more than 40 years. After 40 years the car was found by Bobby Smith of Swanzey. The Batmobile was then salvaged by Toy Car Exchange LLC and it was completely restored by Borbon Fabrications.

The restored 1963 Batmobile was displayed at the Sacramento Autorama, America's longest running indoor car show.
