Peugeot revealed at the end of last week their latest SUV / crossover, called the 4008. The world debut of the Peugeot 4008 will take place next year, at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, after which it will go on sale worldwide. The Peugeot 4008 is based on the same platform as the Citroen C4 Aircross, which also had its debut last week. Even though the two SUV as basically the same underneath, they do have distinctive exterior and interior styling. The Peugeot 4008 measures 4.34m in length, 1.80m in width and 1.63m in height, and it will be available with both petrol and diesel engines.

The petrol range of the Peugeot 4008 will include a 1.6-liter engine developing 85 kW (116 hp) and 152 Nm, and a 2.0-liter unit with 113 kW (150hp)

and 198 Nm of torque. Peugeot's diesel 4008 will be sold with either a 1.6 HDi FAP engine developing 82 kW (112hp) and 270 Nm (280 Nm with overboost) of torque or a 1.8l HDi FAP developing 110 kW (150hp) and 300 Nm of torque. In terms of transmission options, the petrol 4008 will be available with a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox, and the diesels will come with a 6-speed manual.

The Peugeot 4008 will be available with both front-wheel-drive and an all-wheel-drive system.



The driver of the 4008 AWD will have the choice of switching between 2WD, 4WD and LOCK, when he/she needs some extra traction.

The Peugeot 4008 will features LED daytime running lights, body sill and wheel arch protections, and a rear wing. At the interior, the 4008 will feature side LEDs for night/dark light illumination, a touch screen
navigation system, a reversing camera, and the company's Open & Go system.

The Peugeot 4008 price list and full specifications with be announced next year.
