Street Legal Ford GT Race Cars

 »  »  »

RH Motorsports and The GT Guy LLC announced today they're going to offer two street legal Ford GT race cars, called the GT1-S and the GT3-S. Each model is going to have the styling of the Ford GT1 race car and, at the same time, all the comfort, amenities and drivability of a regular production vehicle. The street legal versions of the Ford GT are based on the original Matech 2009 GT1 prototype race car. The Ford GT1-S is actually a street legal version of the FIA approved Matech GT1 racer. The GT1-S is going to be produced in only 20 units, each featuring a carbon fiber wide body kit. Each customer is going to be able to choose the car's specifications, including exterior color and options. For each street legal Ford GT racer there are going to be standard wheel options, as well as track and street upgrades.

For the interior there will be a choice between carbon fiber and Alcantara.

The street legal Ford GT race cars will offer a choice between three engines: a supercharged 5.4-liter unit with 760 hp, a naturally aspirated version with 600 hp and a twin turbo model with 1,000 hp. Each ford GT has a 4" wider front suspension, with new upper and lower control arms. The rear is widened by changing the rim offset.

The price of these special Ford GT racers is going to be announced at a later date.
