Subaru premiered today in Shanghai the XV design concept which previews a new four-door, five-seats crossover model. Subaru's XV concept measures 4,450 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and 1,620 mm in height and has a 2,635 mm wheelbase. The engine of the Subaru XV is a 2.0-litre four cylinder Horizontally-Opposed DOHC engine which is mated to a Lineartronic (CVT) transmission. Subaru does not mention the power output of their new XV concept.

Subaru says the new XV concept has a playful nature, combining driving dynamics with functionality and an urban, stylish design. The overall exterior design of the Subaru XV follows the general lines that define the brand, including the front grille and headlights and hexagonal rear design.

The Subaru XV concept features a panoramic glass roof, which extends from the windscreen all the way to the rear, metallic roof rails, unique 19 inch light alloy wheels, and Electro Yellowgreen paint scheme.

The interior of Subaru's XV concept shows dynamic contours, and a special white leather upholstery with yellowgreen piping. The interior equipment list of the XV Concept includes touch-panel multi-information display integrated in the center console, and the EyeSight advanced driver support system.

At this point, Subaru does not mention whether or not they will put the XV concept into production, but our opinion is that they soon will. Judging from the images they released, the concept is pretty close to a production version Subaru XV.
