Toyota revealed today the FCV concept, which is going to have its world debut at this year's Tokyo Auto Show. The Toyota FCV previews the Japanese carmaker's future production fuel cell vehicle, which is expected to be launched in 2015. Toyota rates the FCV with a range of 300 miles (500km) on a full tank, which takes around three minutes to refill. The Toyota FCV is powered by an electric drive motor that promises fast acceleration. The front of the FCV looks very muscular and aggressive thanks to the huge air intakes. The Toyota FCV is equipped with lightweight fuel cell stack and a pair of high-pressure (70mPa) hydrogen tanks. Toyota says that the FCV has a 3kW/l power output density and a power output of 100 kW. The FCV is also equipped with a high-efficiency boost converter.

Thanks to higher voltage, Toyota managed to reduce the dimensions and weigh of the FCV's motor, making the car lighter and more compact.

The Toyota FCV measures 4,870mm in length, 1,810mm in width and 1,535mm in height. It has a 2,780mm long wheelbase. We'll have more details about the Toyota FCV as soon as they're available.
