The inspiration for the FT-1 concept comes from the 2000GT, the Celica, the Supra, the MR2, the FT-HS and the Lexus LF-LC. Toyota started the development of the FT-1 alsmost two years ago. Toyota's FT-1 concept shows a curved, muscular, and expressive design, with various inlets, ducting, and vents. The FT-1 comes with an active rear wing, which creates additional downforce on the concept's rear axle at high speeds. The Toyota FT-1 concept features a front wngine rear-wheel-drive arhitecture. It comes with a wraparound windshield and side glass openings. For the interior of the FT-1, Toyota chose a functional "place of business" space, with an an F1 inspired steering wheel, and a delta-shaped display zone. The Toyota FT-1 interior features composite materials, and a head-up display. Even though Toyota does not offer any kind of details about the FT-1's engine, they did fit the caoncept with a glass hood.
