Toyota revealed today one of the coolest looking urban utility vehicles we have ever seen. Called the U2 concept, Toyota's new concept aims to meet the needs and lifestyle of an entrepreneurial, urban driver. The Toyota U2 Urban Utility Concept Car allows its user to roll back the roof, fold down the tailgate into a ramp and customize the interior on a versatile rail system. The Toyota U2 also features a retractable utility bar that can be used for holding a desk or grocery bag hooks and side windows that can be flipped up for easy access from roadside. Toyota's U2 can hold anything from baskets to bike stands. You can remove its passenger seat. It has a unique shifter design with intuitive switch for parking, drive and reverse mode.
The U2 concept also features roof panels that retract open, a rear glass that can slide into the tailgate, a tailgate that folds down into a ramp, and a set of protective, replaceable ridges on tailgate.
So far, Toyota did not mention whether the U2 will make it into production in this form, or not.
