Toyota Racing Development (TRD) revealed a special version of the GT86, which will go on sale at the beginning of next month. The British market will received around 250 units of the Toyota GT86 TRD. Even though the TRD version of the Toyota GT86 does not have more power than the standard version, it does come with a few distinctive features. The TRD GT86 is going to be available with a manual transmission and with an automatic one, together with a choice between two exterior colors: Pearl White and GT86 Black. The Toyota GT86 TRD comes with a special aero package, which includes a new front bumper, side skirts and a revised rear bumper with an integrated diffuser. Toyota also equips the GT86 TRD with a quad-exhaust system, 18-inch alloys, a branded radiator cap and fuel filler cover and a special gear shifter.
The equipment list of the GT86 TRD includes HID headlights, fog lights, a limited slip diff, Smart Entry and Start, dual-zone climate control, drilled aluminum pedals, sports seats, scuff plates, cruise control and a multimedia system.
The performance figures of the GT86's TRD version remains the same. The 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint time is 7.7 seconds and its top speed is 140 mph. The automatic version of the GT86 TRD can get from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 8.4 seconds and it can reach a maximum speed of 130 mph. The manual version of the rear-wheel-drive coupe offers 34.9mpg with 192g/km CO2 emissions, while the automatic TRD GT86 is rated with 181g/km and 36.2mpg.
Toyota GT86 TRD's price starts in the UK at £31,495 OTR and it goes up to £32,995 OTR.
