Toyota revealed today a GT86 racer developed for the FIA GT4 series. The Toyota GT86 GT4 race car was developed in collaboration with motorsport engineering pioneer GPRM. This company will also produce the first unit of the GT86 race car later this month. The Toyota GT86 race car is powered by a 2.0-litre direct injection four-cylinder Boxer engine that has received a turbocharger. Finally, we get to see a turbo version of the GT86. The new engine was developed in collaboration with Nicholson McLaren Engines. Even though an exact figure has not been released, Toyota says that the GT86 racer is going to output between 300 hp and 400 hp. This is good information in case you want to turbocharge your own GT86.
The Toyota GT86 racer will compete in the British GT Championship in the GT4 class and it can also be used as an entry-level endurance car. We'll have more details about the GT86 racer as soon as they're available.
