Marangoni revealed at this year's Geneva motor show the Toyota GT86-R Eco Explorer, which is based on the new GT 86. One of the most distinctive features of Marangoni's Toyota GT 86 is its red 19-inc tire set, which is called M-Power EvoRed. The exterior styling of the Marangoni GT86-R is the work of Simone Neri and his TRC Italia style center. The Toyota GT86-R is fitted with the innovative ammonia fuel technology by Bigas International, which significantly decreases the GT 86's fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The Marangoni Toyota GT86-R can be driven on ammonia, while its direct injection can switch to petrol when more power is required from the engine. With a 30-liter tank of ammonia, the GT86-R can run for up to 180 km.

The Marangoni Toyota GT86-R Eco Explorer is fitted with a 20 hp power kit, a larger stainless steel exhaust system with a 200 cell metal catalyst by Milltek Sport, and a Sprintfilter aluminum air box with a P08 polyester filter. The Toyota GT86-R Eco Explorer is fitted with Brembo 6-pot calipers and 355x32 brake discs on the front axle and 4-pot calipers with 345x28 discs and the rear one. The coupe is also equipped with a 35-mm lowered KW suspensions and 19-inch Barracuda Karizzma wheels.

The exterior of Marangoni's Toyota GT86-R is finished in Flash Chrome, which is a special paint developed by Fashion Paint, while its roof is gloss black. The Toyota GT86-R's body kit includes a TRC Italia front bumper, a new aluminum bonnet with air vents for cooling the engine and a new rear bumper with an integrated carbon fiber diffuser. At the interior, Marangoni fitted their GT86-R Toyota with Alcantara and carbon parts, Sparco R333 seats and bespoke pedals and gear knob.

Marangoni did not announce the price of the Toyota GT86-R.
