Volkswagen Bulli Into Production

 »  »  »

Volkswagen revealed the new Bulli concept back in February this year, and recently, the first rumors regarding its production version started to surface. Apparently, the production version of the new VW Bulli will hit the showroom floor sometime in 2014, keeping most of the concept's design features. Volkswagen is expected to transform the 2014 Bulli into an electric people carrier, as part of their heritage strategy. The same strategy also includes the new version 2012 Volkswagen Beetle.

The 2014 VW Bulli is expected to be slightly bigger than a Polo and to offer five seats.
It will measure 3.99 m in length, 1.75 m in width and 1.70 m in height and it will weigh just under 1.5 tons.

The production version of the Volkswagen Bulli might keep the same electric powertrain as the concept. In this case, the 2014 Bulli will have a motor developing 115 PS and 260 Nm of torque. VW says that this motor / lithium-ion battery combo might offer a range of up to 300 km or 186 miles.

We'll have more details on the production version of the Volkswagen Bulli as soon as they're available.
