Volkswagen announced that the Volkswagen Up! concept car will see the light of day as a production model for the Indian market. The Volkswagen Up! production version will be a small 4-door car that will be priced around the $7,500. The production of the Volkswagen Up! is scheduled to begin by the end of 2011.
Volkswagen also announced that the Volkswagen Up! will be produced, starting from 2010, in three other cities around the world but refused to disclose their location.
Volkswagen is negotiating with Bajaj in order to secure a partnership for the production of the Volkswagen Up!.
