Volkswagen up azzurra

Volkswagen up azzurra, which had its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt auto show, is the work of Italian designers Giorgetto Giugiaro and Walter de Silva. The inspiration for Volkswagen’s "up azzurra sailing team" design study came from the nautical world. The VW up azzurra is a prototype for an open, small, and eco-friendly vehicle, to be used around marinas. The name of VW's maritime inspired concept comes from yacht club on the Costa Smeralda.

Volkswagen's up azzurra is a completely opened vehicle. It has no windows, doors, or roof, so its passengers can fully enjoy the nature. The rear seats of the up are replaced in the azzurra by a wooden surface. The materials used for the interior of the up azzurra are usually used on

luxury yachts, which means that they're waterproof. The up azzurra also features a white and blue leather upholstery, chromed, and mahogany with maple wood styling details.

The Volkswagen up azzurra is just a prototype and we doubt VW is going to put it into production in this form.
