Volkswagen announced today four new Up! concepts, which will be unveiled next week at the Geneva Motor Show 2012. The design studies show new possibilities for VW's Up!, which is slowly starting to become the Swiss Army Knife of the small vehicle segment. The Volkswagen swiss up! concept features the Swiss flag's colors, with a Tornado Red exterior finish, white mirror housings, and a white dashboard. VW's winter up! is based on the Volkswagen cross up concept, unveiled at last year's Frankfurt auto show. The VW winter up! features a white / blue two-tone exterior finish and it's able to carry two snowboards on its roof. To be able to cope with the snow, the Volkswagen winter up! comes with a raised ride height, underbody protection and an ESP with an electronic differential lock.

The Orange x up! is built for nigh use as it comes with built-in searchlights in its roof box. Probably the most practical, and more likely to go into production, is the Volkswagen cargo up!. The VW cargo up! is basically a small commercial vehicle, which is able to carry a rather large payload (1,400 liters or 426kg). It also comes with underbody protection panels and a higher ride height. Its rear seats have been removed to gain extra loading space. The driver of the Volkswagen cargo up! is separated from the cargo by a Plexiglas sheet.
