The Volkswagen C Coupe GTE concept was revealed this week, previewing a future sedan which is going to be slotted between the Passat and the Phaeton. The Volkswagen C Coupe GTE measures 1,930 mm in width and it has a 3,001 mm wheelbase. The VW C Coupe GTE is powered by a advanced plug-in hybrid drive system. It features a 4-cylinder turbocharged TSI petrol engine, an 8-speed automatic transmission and an electric motor integrated into the gearbox. The TSI engine of the Volkswagen GTE develops 155 kW / 210 PS, while the electric motor puts out 91 kW / 124 PS. The total output of the VW GTE is rated at 180 kW / 245 PS and 500 Nm of torque. the Volkswagen GTE coupe can be driven in electric only mode up to speeds of 130 km/h and for a maximum of 50 km.

According to Volkswagen's official specs, the GTE Coupe comes with a combined fuel consumption of 2.3 liters per 100 kilometers and a 55 g/km CO2 emissions level. The official specs also say that the Volkswagen GTE coupe offers a maximum range of 800 km. In terms of performance, the VW GTE is rated with a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of 8.6 seconds and with a top speed of 232 km/h.
