2015 Volkswagen Beetle GRC Gets More Power

VW revealed today the updated 2015 Volkswagen Beetle GRC, which is going to take Tanner Foust and Scott Speed into the 2015 Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship. The 2015 VW Beetle GRC continues to be powered by the 2.0 TSI turbocharged petrol engine, which develops 553 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to such a powerful engine and a low weight, the new 2015 Beetle GRC is able to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 2.0 seconds. In comparison the previous version of the Volkswagen Beetle GRC had a 1.6 TSI engine with an output of 544 hp and 387 lb-ft. It needed 2.1 seconds to get to 60 mph. The engine of the new Volkswagen Beetle GRC (2015) is coupled with a 6-speed sequential transmission, and all-wheel-drive system and front and rear limited slip differentials.

The new VW Beetle GRC (2015) is equipped with a strut suspension on all four corners, ZF dampers with 9.5 inches of travel, 14.0-inch diameter front and 11.8-inch rear vented brake discs, four-piston aluminum calipers and 17-inch alloys. As you can see in these images, the 2015 Beetle GRC's body kit has not changed. The car weighs 2,866 pounds, it's 168.8 inches long and 71.7 inches wide.
