Volkswagen Beetle At 2012 SEMA

Volkswagen presented several modified Beetles at the 2012 SEMA show in Las Vegas, some of which are quite stunning. Our favorite has to be VW Beetle created by VWvortex, which celebrates the model's 75th anniversary. Created in collaboration with APR, VWvortex's 2013 Beetle Turbo is good for 500 hp and it comes with an all-wheel-drive system. The extra 300 hp of the VWvortex Beetle come from an APR Stage IV GTX Turbocharger System. After such a power increase, this Beetle required a new fuel system, an intercooler, an ECU upgrade; high-flow cylinder head and intake manifold; high-strength coated pistons and wrist pins; high-strength connecting rods and bearings; an upgraded balancer shaft; and a balanced rotating assembly.

VWvortex's Beetle is also equipped with a DXD Racing Stage III clutch, a short shifter, an H&R Adjustable Coilover Suspension and upgraded brakes.

The VW Beetle built by the "european car Magazine" is called the Beach Battle-Cruiser and it's inspired by the world of windsurfing. Thanks to a Revo Technik turbocharger, a reprogrammed ECU, a new intake and a bespoke exhaust system, the Beach Battle-Cruiser develops 400 hp. Apart from the extra power, this Beetle is equipped with a deployable shower system, a custom interior and 19-inch alloys.

The Galpin Auto Sports (GAS) "Chopped Top" Volkswagen Beetle is lowered by 5.5-inches at the A-pillar and by 2.5-inches at the B-pillar. It also features a lowered ride height, 20-inch vintage Porsche-style wheels and various styling modifications.

Rotiform and FMS Automotive also presented their VE beetle customs, which include a modified model from 1956.
