Volkswagen unveiled a few days ago the new iBeetle coupe and the iBeetle Cabriolet, which, with the help of a newly developed iPhone docking station, integrate the smartphone with the car's functions via a special app. The new app is called the Volkswagen Car Net The Beetle. In this way, the Beetle becomes VW's first series production model to integrate the iPhone. This new feature is available as an optional extra, or as a standard feature on the Volkswagen iBeetle and the iBeetle Cabrio. Both version of the iBeetle will go on sale next year and they're going to integrate the iPhone 5. Versions with iPhone 4/4S integration are going to be available this fall. The Volkswagen iBeetle comes with a special docking station that allows you to use all of the iPhone's features.
In this way, the smartphone can be used to navigate telephone naturally via a hands-free unit, and listen to music.
Volkswagen's special app features the following functions: Spotify, Expert, Trainer, Reader, Postcard, Photo, Post, Milestones. The Volkswagen iBeetle is one of the first vehicles' in the world to have a genuine integrative interface for the iPhone, which was developed in collaboration with Apple. Apart from the smartphone integration system, the VW iBeetle is equipped with 18-inch alloys, black door sill plates, various badges and other styling trim parts.
The Volkswagen iBeetle's price list is going to be announced at a later date.
